Today I'm going to share a special family recipe that my family has enjoyed over the years.
So hope you guys like it.
So let's get started.
Here are the ingredients for 1 Pumpkin Pie: 1 Pie Crust:
1 1/4 cup flour
1 1/4 cup pumpkin 1 cup milk 1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup butter, cut in
1/2 cup sugar 2 tsp vanilla 3 Tbsp or more cold water
1 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch 2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice (optional) 1/2 tsp ginger
First, you're going to get your pumpkin ready. I use fresh pumpkin and once I have cooked it I grind it with a grinder. Or you can just get purred pumpkin from your local grocery store.
Next, combine the pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugars, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Then in a separate bowl mix your dry ingredients together.(cornstarch & spices) Now, stir in the dry ingredients to your large mixing bowl of wet ingredients. Once, you have whisked the mixture until there are no more cornstarch lumps then you are ready to pour it into your pie crust.
Pour pumpkin pie mixture into non-baked pie crust. Preheat oven to 350* and bake for 45 mins to an hour. Check on it every 30 mins. Place a toothpick into the pie if it comes out clean...... it's ready!
Once it has cooled, you can serve it or pop it in the fridge to chill. Later, if your like me, you might enjoy it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
